Pandana First Impressions

Ah… another day, another kiddie MMO. Let’s take a look at Pandana.

So first, graphics are great. Great walking animations and everything. The clothing looks awesome. The community is pretty well balanced.

The game is kind of like Club Penguin with pandas and tree houses. The igloos from Club Penguin are tree houses in Pandana. You can even buy different Panda colors.

The catalogs for buying panda items are a bit long, but that’s not bad. They’re full of great items. Like right now I’ve got an Indiana Jones hat, sunglasses, a white smiley face T shirt and some gray jeans.

I realize this was a short review, it’s only the first impressions.

Making Club Penguin more like an RPG

I recently emailed Club Penguin about making a leveling up feature in Club Penguin. I also emailed them about putting punctuation back into Club Penguin. Here’s what they said:

Hello Opa64,  

Thanks for writing back with more information about your idea.
That would be really cool if penguins could earn experience points
and level up.  Although I can't give you any guarantees, I will be
sure to pass along your suggestion for consideration.  

Punctuation and symbols were also taken away for safety reasons.
Along with phone numbers, we want to make sure that players are not
able to share other information like email addresses, house addresses
and even websites.  We do not support penguins promoting other websites
on Club Penguin because we cannot guarantee that the content of those
other websites are safe for children.  We understand that some of those
websites may be totally appropriate, however there are too many for us to
know for sure.  

We really appreciate your understanding.  Feel free to write us again if
you have any other questions, concerns, or ideas.

How to be famous on CP

Now, I’m in no way saying that I’m famous on Club Penguin, in fact I’m far from it. But here’s how you can take the right steps towards being famous:

1. Get a YouTube account. Record Club Penguin movies and put them on YouTube. I’m not going to explain how to do that, you can find many tutorials on youtube on how to.
2. Get a CP blog. I recommend WordPress for blogging but you can use Webs, Blogger, etc.
3. Become a member on CP. Make yourself look cool.
4. Save your coins for when you become famous. I’ve heard you spend lots of coins when you’re famous.

Runescape

I recently started playing the game Runescape. People who play Runescape have often ridiculed the Club Penguin players by being “babies”, “kids”, “retards”, and so on and so on.

After playing Runescape for a while, here’s what I have to say.

I’m very impressed. I seldom come across a 3d browser game, let alone a 3d browser Java game. It’s got less-than-fantastic graphics, but you can set it to high quality. But high quality lags. So for good graphics, you’re screwed.

I realize why RS players criticize CP players. RS has a more evil, strategic, RPG feel, and CP has a more fun, social, colorful feel.

Overall I’d say that RS is a good game, just as good as CP, and I  might make an addon to this site called OMGRS

What went on with the Music Jam?!

The Music Jam was supposed to end last night, but it went on some of today, and then stopped. It’s kind of strange, either:

• Club Penguin forgot to take it down
• It was so popular CP left it up for a while.

Either way Club Penguin neglected to tell us on the Blog. What do you think happened?

Music Jam ends tonight!

The Music Jam ends tonight! What did you like most about the Music Jam? Did you like it or not?

I personally can’t wait for it to be over so I can start making videos again without them having all kinds of Music Jam signs in the background.

Club Penguin compared to other virtual world MMOs

Compared to: Chobots

Club Penguin is god compared to Chobots. The robots in Chobots move painfully slow and the game really caters to kids and paying members of the game. At least CP is playable if you’re not a paying member!!!

Compared to: Webosaurs

Webosaurs is a step in the right direction. While the small-ish community, odd controlling and quirky voice acting kind of kill the game for me, the game is much better than Chobots.

Compared to: Shadowtale

While Club Penguin and Shadowtale have completely different tones genres and atmospheres, Shadowtale and Club Penguin are just about on the same turf in my book.

Compared to: AdventureQuest Worlds (not AdventureQuest, AdventureQuest Worlds)

Just about the same as Shadowtale but with more cartoony graphics. It’s all good. AdventureQuest Worlds, Shadowtale, and Club Penguin are just about on the same turf in my book.

Monster Force Meetup

Hey all! Opa64 here. Jmann93, owner of Jman’sCPGuide and the leader of the army Monster Force had a Monster Force meeting/recruiting that started at 10:00 PST (Penguin Standard Time). Basically what went down was a ton of Monster Force members shouting “MONSTER FORCE!!!!!!! JOIN MONSTER FORCE!!!!!!!!! MONSTER FORCE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!” If you don’t believe me, here’s some footage I took. The original video was 16 minutes so I eventually had to speed it up until it was at 8 minutes to fit the YouTube restrictions.

Which color will you vote for?!

In case you don’t know, there’s a poll stand in the Forest where you can vote for a new color that penguins can be! I voted for light aqua or something… how about you?
